Terence Crawford on why he did not take the Conor McGregor fight offer

Not many know that former pound for pound boxing number one Terence Crawford was close to fighting Conor McGregor of MMA and the UFC.

He has only properly been talking about for the first time in recent days for the first time but it has gone under the radar.

He basically said the reason he did not go for it is because he did not need the fight.

He was not desperate and opted to not go for a bout with McGregor.

He did not confirm if it was the two fight agreement suggested by recent headlines, one fight in MMA and one in boxing.

But he did say, which not many know, is that he was looking at it and he noted Conor McGregor did not have great wrestling.

Crawford mentioned that he did wrestle in the US growing up in high school and as young man and he thought McGregor’s wrestling in MMA and the UFC was not good.

This is intiguing that if Crawford were to properly learn wrestling now and apply what he already knew, and say, learn take down defence properly, consider it.

If Conor McGregor could not take Terence Crawford down or found it very difficult to do so.

McGregor would have been forced to stand up even in an MMA and UFC fight with one of the best boxers of his time in Terence Bud Crawford at that point.

This is such a rare scenario though where a professional boxer actually wrestled to a high level early in life like Crawford though.

And where Conor McGregor did not wrestle early in life at all and only learned it later in life when he went to the UFC.

Maybe one of the few occasions where a high level boxer like Crawford would have knocked out a high-level MMA and UFC fighter like McGregor.

Even in MMA and UFC rules — using his boxing.

Growing up in Omaha in Nebraska in the US Crawford came from a family with a strong wrestling backround.

He competed as a wresler as a child then in high school as a teenager.

Conor McGregor returns to the UFC on July 11th soon but had been linked with some boxing matches as well.

Let’s see how he gets on in the Max Holloway rematch first before he tries to step in there in boxing or with boxers.

Conor Mcgregor beefed with Terence Crawford online directly recently.

Terence Crawford remains undefeated and retired from the sport of boxing currently.

He holds a professional boxing record of 42-0-31KO.
