Could the wild soon to be 38-years-old Conor McGregor even get back into a professional boxing ring

Conor McGregor returns to the UFC soon in the sport of MMA but has been talking about boxers and boxing a lot lately.

By all accounts he still trains boxing to a high level.

It is part of mixed martial arts at the end of the day in the stand up game.

McGregor maybe has some of the better boxing out of any UFC or MMA fighter in the history of MMA.

But is just one component of mixed martial arts.

McGregor returns to the UFC on July 11th in his rematch with Max Holloway.

He turns 38 in September and although he has been doing a lot of training recently, even doing some boxing exhibitions in the Dublin in Ireland, something does not add up.

His eyes and pupils are very wide in some interviews and he looks either hung over or had maybe being on some nights out during this training camp.

Maybe not excessively but if he is drinking alcohol to get intoxicated or taking any other substances, this is not the Conor McGregor of old anymore.

He is on edge and you can tell.

By all accounts he still owns part of his bareknuckle boxing promotion as well BKFC and lately Conor McGregor been on a tirade against Terence Crawford and boxers.

If McGregor does not do well in his MMA fight next month, it is quite possible he will look to then go into boxing for another match.

Some years removed from his last and only professional boxing match in his TKO defeat to Floyd Mayweather.

He landed some clean punches early on in the Mayweather fight and even won some rounds even back then.

But you could tell Mayweather ended the thing once he chose to mid way through the fight.

McGregor’s gas tank and stamina has been badly effected in his training over the years from drinking and whatever else he is still doing with alcohol and anything else.

To get into a professional boxing ring over ten rounds, three minutes a round, in our view, is too much for Conor McGregor.

Conor McGregor as a fighter has always had one number one weakess in his fight game right from the very start of his career and right up to now.

His engine. His stamina. His cardio. His gas tank. His conditioning.

They are all the same thing.

In the Nick Diaz fight in MMA that he lost, this was what caused him to stumble as well, he gets tired too easily in fights.

In boxing it happened against Mayweather mid way through the fight also.

McGregor ran out of gas and Mayweather turned on his C game and started pinging him at will.

McGregor for us is still a bit wild but he is hiding his partying a little bit better.

That won’t wash soon in MMA.

Or in boxing.
