Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao had looked possible but not now, it looks more or less dead in the water from this.
Well, from the latest from Pacquiao that is.
He has been saying this week that the fight first had been re-arranged to 2027.
But that in itself was enough for anyone to see it was off by that alone.
Now he is basically saying the fight is on hold and re-arranged permanently with no definitive date to it at all.
There is more to this now though.
Floyd Mayweather is now contending with major new issues with event organizers on different fights.
Including the one on Pacquiao 2 as well allegedly.
Apparently he allegedly took advances in pay on some of the fights as well.
That is what Pacquiao claimed recently as well.
But Mayweather earlier on had a fight in Greece cancelled as well which was an exhibition due to some of these issues he has.
He cannot even keep it together for exhibition fights at this point.
How he is expected to keep it together for professional boxing matches is beyond reproach at this point.
He cannot be trusted to even pull off an exhibition so a major professional sporting event with major commercial players and corporations involved seems not possible for Mayweather at this point.
Boxing is doing better than ever and Mayweather is not anything to do with it.
At all.
Nor are some of the other old guard in boxing. They will not be coming along for boxing’s success this year as a sport or in the future.
Boxing is about to do even much better though and is moving on all the time without some of the old characters in boxing.
Based on more of the best fighters fighting the other best fighters than ever before.
Alas, Mayweather needs to get back to the US and speak with the government immediately.
It sounds like his passport could be witheld from him and taken off him soon.
Boxing is going to new levels of success soon and without Floyd Mayweather and others of the old guard promoters and so on.
Pacquiao can look to other fights shortly.
