Some solid scraps on Paramount Boxing on Saturday night in Dublin but very small names, weak card and Dana White appeared to go missing.
He had been hyping up him coming to boxing for ages but he signed hardly any big names in the end.
Paramount Plus must be freaking out at him at the moment for some of the poor cards and lack of big name signings.
Aaron Mckenna got a title victory on Saturday night but Dana White had been hardly not seen the day of the fight or after also.
Strange, as he had been in Dublin earlier on fight week.
The American fight promoter is clearly in even further rapid decline more than already thought in boxing and beyond;
- Confused Ireland with the UK when explaining missing ring girls – basic geography fail for a global promoter
- History of the same mistake – Conor McGregor had to correct him on live TV in 2015 for calling Ireland part of the UK
- Vanished from cageside during his own UFC event in London earlier this year also – disappeared halfway through and never came back
- Skipped post-fight interviews in Dublin – refused to face media after the McKenna card
- Called Zuffa Boxing’s own belt a “World title”, that fell on its face.
- His “vision” for boxing is all control and no substance – creating his own belt system rather than working with the established framework
- Spent years mocking boxing promoters – now he is one, and it shows he doesn’t understand the sport’s culture
- His stable is thin – McKenna and Walsh are prospects, but there’s no real depth or proven draws, Shakur Stevenson his only main big name signing, no fight signed for him though.
- Claims boxing was dying until he got involved – bull crap — pure revisionism — the sport was thriving before he showed up
- Zuffa shows have felt more like UFC events with boxing gloves – same walkouts, same production, no boxing identity, Paramount can fix that minus Dana White
- Refuses to work with other promoters – isolationist approach means fewer big fights get made often
- His ego won’t let him learn – too stubborn to adapt to boxing’s long-established way of doing business
All in all, he looks more than in decline.
He looks nearly done at this point in boxing as everything he claimed he would do, he never did.
Boxing is doing great as a sport though and Paramount can still use the UFC and other organizations but they can easily get another promoter other than Dana White.
He had been a proven promoter in the UFC but overrated clearly in boxing.
