Unprofessional Ryan Garcia, the US boxer at 147 pounds, is clearly struggling and then some at the moment.
He is more concerned being around influencers at the moment then he is on training for a Conor Benn fight this year.
He is already looking at retiring from boxing and talking about it, just one fight left on his in decline promoter Oscar De La Hoya‘s contract, he claims.
Some notes on this;
- Garcia is already talking retirement from boxing
- He wants to pursue acting, singing, and entertainment content instead of fighting
- He plans to start his own promotions company to control his matchmaking and protect his brand
- He is still under contract with Golden Boy for one more fight – against Conor Benn on September 12
- He has shown interest in fighting in the UFC against Sean O’Malley or even bare-knuckle boxing
- Tim Bradley warned that Garcia “doesn’t like guys with punching power” – exactly what Benn brings
- Bradley predicts the Benn fight is 50/50 and Garcia will be “second-guessing himself”
- Garcia turned down a $25 million Jake Paul exhibition to pursue a world title instead
- His focus is split between retirement, promotions, and crossover fights – not on Benn
- With his mind everywhere but the ring, Garcia looks dangerously unfocused heading into September 12
Ryan Garcia has a very unstable mind again at the moment it comes across as, very clearly.
Erratic, unprofessional, not focused.
He had a solid victory over Mario Barrios earlier this year but not impressive last year vs Rolly Romero.
All is not as it seems in Ryan Garcia, don’t believe the hype in him.
Fast hands, but a poor chin and a lot of things outside of boxing distracting him currently.
