Devin Haney has come into a strong position in boxing for his fight talks after Stevenson and Davis did the exact opposite in their talks.
Stevenson claims original terms did not get agreed on by the Haney side, yet he did not say the terms in his rant.
Davis looks to be in a state of shame listening to music and not focused on boxing at the moment on his social media posts.
Devin Haney is doing great and can look for a different opponent if he needs to, some notes;
- Shakur publicly closed the door on Haney forever, calling the Haneys “clout chasers” and blaming them for fake negotiations .
- Keyshawn Davis pulled out of his mandatory title shot, reportedly unhappy with the $2.13 million purse .
- Teofimo Lopez called Davis’s withdrawal a “duck move” – pulling out after a purse bid is basically saying yes then running .
- Ryan Garcia slammed Davis as a “big talker” who bit off more than he could chew .
- Tim Bradley accused Shakur of “purposefully going M.I.A.” after Haney agreed to his 144-pound catchweight demand .
- Bill Haney hardened his stance, saying Shakur should now come to 147 – no more weight concessions .
- Haney himself ruled out a Brian Norman Jr rematch, tweeting: “It’s not happening. I tell you that right now” .
- With both paths closed, Haney is now in talks with Liam Paro for an October unification fight in the US .
- Shakur had verbally agreed to Haney but kept pushing for catchweight, leaving Team Haney unwilling to compromise further .
- Both Stevenson and Davis had their shots – one walked, one talked – and now Haney is moving on without either of them .
Devin Haney can look to other opponents at this point.
Clearly Shakur Stevenson is scared of him, he is even gone running to the nation of Thailand at the moment is looks like.
He must be terrified at the moment, Stevenson.
He is not even in America in a time during crucial fight talks for him, that says it all on him.
