- His win over Haney was overturned due to a failed drug test, so it doesn’t count as a legitimate victory
- Haney agreed to a rematch but only with strict VADA testing, which Garcia refused
- Stevenson demands year-round drug testing before agreeing to fight him
- Garcia never actually sent formal contracts to either fighter, despite claiming they ducked him
- His payment dispute is with his promoter Golden Boy/DAZN, not with other boxers
- Haney is actively suing him for battery and fraud over the failed test
- Crawford has publicly dismissed Garcia as a serious threat to top competition
- Calling out “ducking” is a common negotiation tactic to pressure opponents
- Garcia has a history of making public money claims against others that don’t hold up
- In boxing, big fights are earned through clean wins and credibility—he currently has neither
Garcia had a solid victory over Mario Barrios in his last bout, sure, but Conor Benn is not setting the globe alight.
He does not appear to be taking training that serious for him, either.
