Ryan Garcia returns to action soon, it looks close now but there are talks of some problems he is having.
Recently he went on Jimmy Fallon and actually said that is was Conor Benn of the UK next up for him and put a date on it.
However in some comments since he has back peddled and said that is not guaranteed now.
It appears that Conor Benn has in fact signed the fight on his side.
However, the hold up is to do with Ryan Garcia and supposedly issues with his promoter Golden Boy and its current CEO Oscar De La Hoya.
As well as some problems with doing a Conor Benn fight with DAZN as well.
A network that has shown Ryan Garcia fights online in recent years.
The issue here appears to be that Conor Benn is boxing now on Paramount Plus in the US.
So if you read between the lines, they maybe do not think it is a big enough fight to do a proper joint promotion.
With Benn’s people and Garcia’s — as well as with DAZN and Paramount Plus.
Or maybe they are thinking of showing the fight on both networks but with different things to work out on that.
Now, if it was a big fight like Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney 2 — it would probably be more straight forward.
But because Ryan Garcia is much more the A-side here than Conor Benn is from the UK, this is where the problem maybe is.
Business-wise commercially for the networks and so on.
Conor Benn is unknown in the US for many despite his recent Regis Prograis win.
So Ryan Garcia will command most of the purse if they fight.
This is maybe what is being worked out with welterweight chamopion Ryan Garcia and his networt currently.
But expect news soon.
Ryan Garcia was even in Japan lately — let’s see what is focus is now back in the US.
