David Haye is in bullish form ahead of his rematch with Tony Bellew on May 5th which will take place at London’s 02 Arena.

Haye’s damaged left bicep is understood to be healing well with a resuming to full punching achieved over a week ago with coach Ismael Salas.

He damaged the bicep just before the rematch was meant to happen last year before Christmas which caused it to be put back to this May.

Everything (touch wood) appears to be on track now however with all systems go bar any other freak injuries that might happen.

Speaking to IFL TV, Haye promised Bellew’s promoter Eddie Hearn that:

“I’ll get my revenge.”

The two boxers will be able to settle the debate soon enough but one would expect plenty of more of this kind of hype over the coming months – given the characters involved.

Rumours of Haye retiring from boxing has frequented the boxing world recently and if this is the case, expect a very, very good Haye to turn up on fight night.

While now removed from his prime, a fit and healthy David Haye even at this stage of the game has more than enough speed and power to give plenty of heavyweights out there trouble.
