Malignaggi Slams Dana White Mayweather McGregor PPV Estimate

Paulie Malignaggi Slams The UFC Over Khabib Treatment After McGregor Fight

Former world champion Paulie Malignaggi slams Dana White for (in his view) his inaccurate pay per view estimate.

Over a week out from the Mayweather vs McGregor fight, the official numbers for pay per view buys are still being totted up by the relevant people – with an official announcement expected some time next week.

However, earlier this week a video emerged online of UFC president Dana White appearing to mention that the event did a whopping 6.5 million pay per view buys.

It was not clear however if he was referring to buys just in the US or also including the UK and Ireland from the Instagram story video he appeared via UFC fighter Uriah Faber.

The Associated Press subsequently released a story interviewing Showtime (the broadcaster of the fight in the US) Sports’ head honcho Stephen Ezpinoza.

In the interview the figure being touted is more like 5 million based on early estimates, but he admits the official number is not yet known as things are still being counted.

Paulie Malignaggi has taken exception to White’s 6.5 million buys video however, blasting the UFC President on Twitter:

Indeed, Malignaggi took a disliking to White all the way leading up to the fight labelling him at one point a:

“Cue ball.”
