Can Anderson Silva still compete in professional boxing?
He boxed recently enough in professional boxing and the Brazilian MMA and UFC legend impressed hugely in boxing.
In his Tyron Woodley fight in December of last year he proved outstanding in professional boxing.
He lost to Jake Paul before that but did beat former champion Chavez Jr.
Some notes on this;
- He is not retired and plans to have one or two more boxing fights
- He won his most recent boxing match by TKO in December 2025 over Woodley
- He has built a professional boxing record of 4 wins and 2 losses
- He has committed to boxing exclusively and ruled out an MMA return
- He maintains a regular boxing training schedule even at age 50
- He is planning a farewell to combat sports inside the boxing ring
- He is interested in symbolic legacy fights against specific opponents
- Becoming a police officer has not halted his boxing career
- He has proven effective against other MMA veterans in boxing matches
- He continues to receive fight invitations, showing he remains marketable
If he opted to, not at the highest level, but sure, he could compete in some professional boxing matches.
Not at a very high level though, he is 51 at this point.
Still, his achievements briefly in professional boxing prove boxing is an option for some MMA fighters as more continue to join professional boxing more and more.
