The Shakur Stevenson vs Devin Haney fight looks dead in the ocean for the time being and it is because of Shakur Stevenson. No one else.
He said that the fight being offered by father of Devin Haney had been a bluff by him.
Clearly it had not been and had been a proper offer to fight by team Haney.

- Calls Haney his “No. 1 priority” but has been accused of ducking by Ryan Garcia and others.
- Insists on a 144-pound catchweight but says he would fight others at 147, showing inconsistency. The catchweight had been even offered to him.
- Haney’s camp says they offered the catchweight and Stevenson’s side never responded, he took his time to respond on social media.
- Doing so using profanity then, only emphasizing his insecurity and lack of interest in making the fight even further.
- When Haney offered to fight at full 147, Stevenson questioned the change rather than accepting.
- His manager made threats about shotguns in interviews instead of focusing on making the fight.
- His team reportedly wants a rehydration clause on top of the catchweight, making it harder for Haney to accept.
- The 144-pound catchweight favors Stevenson’s smaller frame while Haney would have to drain down.
- Claims he “verbally agreed” but no contract has been signed and he’s unclear on Haney’s side.
- Suggested Haney should vacate his belt to make the fight happen, making it conditional on Haney’s actions.
At the end of the day this fight could have happened at a drop of a hat.
Team Haney did everything possible to make the bout.
Shakur Stevenson is the cause of this and he looks terrible in the eyes of spectators both in America and around the globe after this.
He can’t dine out on that Teofimo Lopez points victory earlier this year for much longer.
