Diego Pacheco is one of America’s most capable prospects in boxing in the eyes of some and returns to action this weekend.
He takes on Immanuwel Aleem at the Stub Hub Centre in California in the US this weekend on Sautrday night July 18th.
Aleem has a professional boxing record of 22-4-3 going into this weekend.
Pacheco, is unbeaten with a record of 25-0-18 KO at the moment and is becoming a force in the super-middleweight division.
Diego Pacheco is a tall fighter for the 168 pounds weight class and has a solid boxing brain when he uses it.
He is only 25 years old but has shown some solid boxing ability already.
He likes to fight on the outside mostly. He likes using the range and height he has which he should, it works for him.
He digs in well to the body for a big man in the division too and the jab is useful at times when he uses it to keep opponents off.
Or set up the right cross which can be powerful when he is often punching down with it.
His uppercuts are solid as well on the inside and have a lot of speed on them for a big man.
A surprising amount of speed on them for a big man, actually.
He is 6’4 which is a giant for super-middleweight.
It is not that as extreme a thing as Sebastian Fundora’s height advantage at 154 pounds for instance — but it is a big weapon for him still.
Unlike his fellow American boxer Sebastian Fundora — he uses it to his advantage better though and gets behind that jab well at times.
Boxing well on his bike often.
He has solid heart as well and is not afriad to mix it in the toe to toe exchanges if he needs to.
His uppercuts, the right uppercut in particular, boxing on the back foot, can be very potent at times.
Very impressive in fact. Very neat and tidy with his work at times and does the fundamentals well.
Diego Pacheco needs to be better again though this weekend however and if he does — a title shot of big fight is there now for him.
