The former heavyweight champion has landed with some good fortune here as he looks set for his final fight in boxing and it is a big one.
At least that is what it looks like he will try to do.
Lineal heavyweight champion Alexander Usyk who threw away and vactated the old belt companies’ belts recently wants to fight him.
He is serious about it and Wilder has now said that he is open to the fight again and that the fight can be made.
Usyk is looking to have his final fight in boxing next up as well.
By all accounts Wilder has said he wants to box on.
But the truth of it is he was shot completley in his last fight with Derek Chisora earlier this year.
He showed guts and heart and the fight was entertaining but his legs were gone earlier in 2026.
When his power did land on Chisora it did not trouble him either.
So, this by all expectations should be the last fight of Deontay Wilder’s career in boxing as well.
If in fact it happens at all.
He and Usyk now want to make the fight.
It does solid numbers in the US as Usyk is the lineal champion and is undefeated and never lost.
Wilder from the US is still a big name in America.
The clash of styles is interesting in some regards.
In that it pits a boxer type in Usyk (who can hit) against a big hitting wild counter puncher type in Wilder.
Wilder’s chin has been shown to be exposed in many fights in recent years in many fights.
Usyk will surely think if he lands he can knock Wilder out early.
Maybe Alabama boxer Deontay Wilder will think the same with him though.
It looks like Deontay Wilder vs Alexander Usyk is what is now being tried to be made at heavyweight between both boxers soon.
They will try one last hurrah for both of them in boxing.
