Floyd Mayweather landed in Greece this week and some concerning things for him were happening in Europe.
Floyd Mayweather used to be one of the biggest names in American boxing.
He used to be one of the biggest names in boxing worldwide.
He still is a name but there has been a big change lately.
He has given up on his ‘Money’ Mayweather moniker in recent years and his popularity has nose dived.
So much so a short time ago per the above photo, he arrived in Greece this week with hardly any reporters or spectators there a short time ago for him.
Per the above.
That is the first time that might have happened to Floyd Mayweather on his international travels in more than 20 years or so.
Plagued by problems in the US of all sorts, the US government allegedly could be close to seizing his passport.
So, international travel trips like this for him at airports maybe a thing of the past for him shortly anyway.
You could tell this hit him like a tonne of bricks as well when he landed in Greece this week.
He temporarily put a brave face on it but he could not hide it from us, he looked gutted.
No press, no photographers, no spectators, no people of Greece asking for autographs at the airport.
He looked stunned but still gave his usual canned lawyer statement responses to the small number of press who were there.
He looked jaded as well but that could be from jetlag but one major thing was apparent.
The Floyd Mayweather Money Team that he used to call his entourage of hangers on, security, friends and so on — was not there at all.
Gone and nowhere to be seen.
A very bare team of trainers and those travelling with him from the US it looked like.
This can be a familiar story sometimes later in life for some boxers who do not hold on to what they have wisely.
The hangers on often disappear.
Alas, Floyd Mayweather can no longer sell exhibitions against people nobody has ever heard of anymore.
