The Errol Spence vs Tim Tszyu show has solid fighters on the undercard but the fights themselves are not that solid or competitive.
The main event itself on July 25th is the big sell however in the Spence vs Tszyu fight itself.
People want to know how much American Spence has left after three years away from boxing and after the Terence Crawford hammering.
A fight where he was stopped the last time he stepped foot in a professional boxing ring.
That said, Jermall Charlo and Stephen Fulton are on the undercard, two names in boxing.
Two capable fighters and champions on their day who have brought big interest to their fights previously at different times in their careers.
With some big hitting and solid boxing display fights on different occasions.
But who they are meant to be fighting in Australia shortly does not exactly set the world alight at all.
To put it lightly.
Jermall Charlo is due to fight Koen Mazoudier and Stephen Fulton is expected to box against Liam Wilson on the undercard on July 25th in Sydney in Australia.
As for Charlo, this basically is an easy tune up fight and he likes to do this occasionally, like take a year off and then fight just a tune-up instead of someone with genuine danger to him.
This is not going to put his boxing career on the right path fighting caliber of opposition like this.
Especially in a time where the best are fighting the best in each division more than ever in recent times.
PBC has still a few solid fighters but the matchmaking here by the them really exposes how bad shape PBC and Al Haymon are in and they are clearly going out of the sport in bad terms at the moment.
There is no young prospects coming through anymore for them to match their marquee names with and the depth just is not their in their stable anymore.
This matchmaking here shows it.
The Fulton fight is not exactly a fight that those outside of boxing or even those hardcore spectators of the sport, have called for, either.
Some have said that this card is a bunch of washed up fighters from PBC looking to cash out and maybe there could be some truth in that.
It is all the way in Australia as well and to bring so much American fighters over there, shows you how badly PBC are doing in America right now.
At a time when the sport in the US is going great however.
Even MMA fighters and influencers and former legends continue to comeback to do fights in America — boxing is that popular again.
On Charlo, Mazoudier has been around in boxing for many years now and has largely campaigned at super-welterweight.
He is a blown up 154 pounds fighter moving up to take on a huge super-middleweight in Charlo.
Not a good look for Charlo or the PBC.
Finally, PBC charge the most for pay per view in the US and are desperate for cash.
This has been exposed now as PPV is doing well with records being set in Japan recently for the Naoye Inoue vs Junto Nakatani fight doing over half a million to a million buys for their fight.
At around the 45 dollars price point when converting Japanese currency to US dollars, PBC however continue to charge around 90 to 100 bucks for some PPVs and are on their way out of boxing clearly at this point.
It will be interesting to see the main event though and what Tim Tszyu does with Errol Spence.
