Lamont Roach Jr says people are high on O’Shaquie Foster but if they fought at 130 pounds he would have won, is he right about that though?
Foster a super featherweight world champion had a win recently against Ray Ford and boxed solidly but it was only a majority points win.
The likes of Shakur Stevenson got in the ring with him after and he called him out.
Lamont Roach is due to return in August against William Zepeda and remains on his radar for a fight as well.
Roach thinks though the fight may have gone and if they had fought he would have won, let’s take a look at some things:
- Roach and Foster have traded words and callouts on social media.
- Foster responded by saying Roach has not fought top competition.
- Foster showed receipts before claiming Roach avoided a potential fight.
- Both fighters have competed at 130 pounds in their careers.
- Roach holds experience as a champion around that weight class.
- Foster defended his title at 130 pounds against strong opponents.
- The two have engaged in direct social media back-and-forth.
- Fans debate who would win a matchup between them at 130.
- Roach reacted to Foster’s recent callouts and performances again lately.
Foster now finds himself talked about himself in bigger fights as well but you’d have to say based on form, he would have been underdog and yes, Lamont Roach would have possibly won if they fought at 130 pounds.
Roach has mixed in tough fights lately with the likes of Gervonta Davis and Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz both taking him to a draw in his last two fights.
This year and last year.
Many thought he deserved to win both of those.
So yes, people are high on Foster at the moment but Roach by form would have beaten him at 130 pounds if they fought.
Lamont Roach fights William Zepeda next up.
