A look at why Vasiliy Lomachenko has more ability in his little finger than most of division if he comes back to boxing soon.
That’s the talk anyway. That he’s coming back. He says due to being free from Bob Arum but he could have comeback anyway.
Nothing stopping him.
For those new to boxing or need a catch up on ‘Hi Tech’ Lomachenko, some notes on him:
- Vasyl Lomachenko owns one of the best amateur records ever: 396 wins and just 1 loss.
- He won two Olympic gold medals in 2008 and 2012.
- Lomachenko became a world champion in only his third pro fight.
- He is a three-division world champion at featherweight, super featherweight, and lightweight.
- He captured titles in three weight classes in just 12 professional fights.
- His pro record is 18-3 with 12 knockouts.
- Lomachenko is famous for elite footwork, angles, and ring intelligence.
- He uses feints and movement to control fights and avoid punches.
- In May 2025, he won a lightweight title with an 11th-round TKO over George Kambosos Jr — who was much younger than him.
- At age 38, he is planning a comeback in fall 2026 and wants big fights.
He isn’t that old compared to standards of professional fighters and athletes who look after themselves competing these days, maybe the time off will have done him well with the rest.
But who knows.
Maybe the ring rust will show.
Let’s see what fights he is in next.
The Shakur Stevenson fight would still be a big sell in the US and worldwide, even now, in the summer of 2026.
Apparently Lomachenko wants to fight one Charly Suarez next — but let’s see who he fights next.
