Amari Jones on Gualtieri and what he brings

Amari Jones on Gualtieri

Amari Jones is in action on Friday night against a former world champion in an official world title eliminator.

If he wins and wins big then the world title shot is there for him this year and big fights as well.

Middleweight is competitive division though so winning is not enough, he needs to be impressive.

Speaking a short time ago at the Gualtieri final presser he said:

“I train for every fight like I’m fighting for a world title. I don’t cut any corners. I dot all my i’s and cross all my t’s. I know Vincenzo has experience over me, but I don’t feel like he’s better than me at all. I don’t feel like he has more skills than me. On Friday night, I’m going to show that.”

This fight many view as the classic case of a puncher against a boxer but that isn’t entirely correct.

Jones is a gifted boxer as well as a puncher and could opt to box early on and show his boxing skill.

Amari Jones has big ambitions in boxing — it will be opt to him to prove his ability to boxing as a sport this week if he wants to get after them.
