Daniel Dubois May Target One Part Of Wardley Precisely

Daniel Dubois comes across as very dialed in and focused and wanting to get in a fight ahead of the Wardley showdown.

He takes on Fabio Wardley this weekend in the big heavyweight title fight this week in boxing.

Many expect a war in the fight.

The way the styles match up and the two boxers not being overly fond of one another.

On targeting the nose of Fabio Wardley Dubois enthused:

“Yeah every shot that lands really. Yeah every shot that lands. I’m not looking for no particular target and to come away as the new champion…”

If the nose is a weakness of Wardley and he’s open to having it broken, then yeah, why would he not?

Both have weaknesses.

Here’s maybe some of the weaknesses of both boxers to look to exploit on the night:

Daniel Dubois – weaknesses

  • Takes a knee when hurt. Quit vs Joyce 2020 and Usyk 2023.
  • Panics under fire. Got hit and panicked vs Lartey.
  • Weak to body shots. Hearn says Usyk does not like it to the body.
  • Folds when losing. Wardley says if it is not going his way he nose dives.
  • Trainer issues. Split and re-hired Don Charles; ex-coach says he will not listen.
  • Low ring IQ in adversity. Warren says he lost focus and got disheartened.
  • Reckless brawler. Got into a reckless brawl after being hurt.
  • Fragile eye socket. Fractured orbital vs Joyce ended fight.
  • Poor prep habits. Pulled out of Parker with fever; partied day of Usyk 2.
  • Introverted on big stage. Wardley says he was even more introverted back then.

Fabio Wardley – weaknesses

  • Absorbs too many shots. Wardley says he took a lot of shots vs Huni.
  • No amateur background. Started with zero amateur experience.
  • Loses rounds big. Down 88-83, 89-82, 89-82 vs Huni.
  • One-dimensional power. Relies on trap, step back, counter right hand.
  • Struggles at range. Cannot box at range vs Dubois power.
  • Durability questions. Atlas says there are casualties of war and it takes time to heal.
  • Needs scrappy fights. Must drag him into a scrappy fight to win.
  • Untested vs elite. Wardley has not seen that level of competition.
  • Slow starter. Huni was cruising before late KO.
  • Defensive holes. Wardley says there were things he distinctly did not do well.

There was a lot of edge and malice there between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley today.

Both of their managers went at it earlier today calling one another crooks, bag holders, a fraud and more.

One even saying that the other wasn’t a licensed manager.

Their managers really went at one another but the fighting will be done by the boxers at the end of the day.
