Former WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder has started the year like a storm and there is no letting up with him.
He came back to the sport lowkey last year in 2025 but successfully by stoppage victory. On a fight week with last minute change of trainer, something that would effect any professional boxer, he took that in his stride and dealt with it with ease.
That in itself will show you Deontay Wilder’s mental strength. A titan of a man, not just in boxing, but in life. A warrior in boxing and in life and a winner in both.
Wilder already this year out of nowhere is set to fight the UK’s Derek Chisora in April in a huge fight against the much followed by fans and big character Chisora.
Like Wilder’s always in good fights and the styles will inevitably clash very well in a great heavyweight fight.
Not only that though Wilder has landed a massive opportunity then in June against Oleksandr Usyk.
The heavyweight King of boxing in a massive fight in the US that will really launch Usyk in America even further.
There is a possibility Zuffa Boxing, TKO and Paramount could be involved in that but nothing confirmed yet.
That will take things even further for the sport to new levels. New levels already achieved in 2026 for boxing but much more on the way daily and weekly now.
Wilder is a part of this and he will continue to be. A big hitter who has taken 2026 by storm maybe more than any heavyweight or big name boxer in terms of making things happen quickly with big fights and big moves.
Expect heavy hits from him this year.
