Chris Eubank Jr is on the way back to the sport of boxing as many predicted, he is not done yet at all in boxing.
He had a tough stoppage defeat in the rematch to Conor Benn late last year but earlier in the year a great win over Benn in the first fight.
He has outgrown middleweight and by all accounts he will return now up at super-middleweight.
Unbreakable Chris Eubank Jr Coming Back At 168 Pounds, Why He Can Be A Force There
Here’s ten reasons why he can be a force there:
Natural weight — He’s always felt comfortable at 168 lbs and struggled with brutal cuts at 160 lbs.
Proven title success — Won and defended the IBO super middleweight title twice (2017–2019).
Beat a two-time champ — Majority decision win over former two-time 168 lb world champion James DeGale in 2019.
No more extreme cuts — Eliminates dangerous dehydration and rehydration limits that hurt his recent performances.
High volume & stamina — Relentless work rate and output become even more effective without draining energy on weight loss.
Stronger physically — Fights closer to natural walking weight → more power, speed, and durability.
Elite experience — Fought top names like Saunders, Groves, and DeGale at super middleweight level.
Excellent conditioning — Known for top-tier discipline and fitness; sharper when not fighting drained.
Marketable style — Awkward, high-output approach creates exciting, winnable matchups in a stacked division.
Motivated comeback — Returning to a weight where he thrived, with renewed hunger after 2025 setbacks.
Eubank Jr has shown himself to be a warrior in boxing and a warrior of a man in life over the years.
He’ll be back but will surely be more scientific with the weight cut back at super-middleweight moving forward.
