He has a crazy amount of social media followers and digital brand online and is a big boxing fan, regularly going to the big fights all over the world in recent years.

Golovkin is the leader of World Boxing and is in a lot of hot water and trouble with people all over the world recently.
Golovkin gaining much criticism even from those in boxing here.
Essentially, the best amateur organization in boxing is the IBA and Golovkin and his organization continue to fail to work with the IBA, not helping amateur boxing or boxing at the next Olympics.
Until World Boxing can get rid of Golovkin as their chairman or work with the IBA more, Olympic boxing will not be good in LA in 2028 or after that.
That will not change and will never be negotiable.
