Speaking to YSM Sports Media Jose Benavidez Sr said that his son has always used top quality sparring his whole career:
“Even when he was young and not yet a professional, we brought in fighters like Kelly Pavlik, Gennady Golovkin, Gilberto Ramirez, and others. We’ve always brought in elite fighters to prepare for fights. We’ve even sparred with Bivol.”
Benavidez is now 30-0 as a professional and the WBC light-heavyweight champion of the world.
Benavidez returns on November 22nd against Anthony Yarde.
