Keyshawn Davis is a confident young boxer from the US and has already won a world title but this is a big call from him.
By all accounts he is due to face fellow big name US boxer Devin Haney next up.
In a welterweight title fight where he will properly move up to 147 pounds to challenge Haney.
He claims he will knock out Devin Haney and become the next face of boxing, but some notes on this for balance:
- Elite footwork – Haney constantly controls range, making it hard for anyone to plant their feet and punch.
- World-class jab – His jab keeps opponents at bay and disrupts their rhythm before they can attack.
- Fights on the outside – He’s mastered fighting at a distance where power punchers struggle to land clean.
- Vast championship experience – He’s shared the ring with Lomachenko, Kambosos, Prograis, and Garcia—far bigger names than Davis has faced.
- Already proven at 147 lbs – He won a welterweight title against Brian Norman Jr., so the weight jump isn’t an issue for him.
- Defensive tricks – He uses leaning, clinching, and angles to smother inside attacks and avoid big shots.
- Proven durability – Even after being dropped three times by Ryan Garcia, he still finished the fight on his feet.
- High ring IQ – He adapts mid-fight and makes adjustments that frustrate younger, less experienced opponents.
- 12-round stamina – He’s gone the distance in tough title fights; Davis hasn’t faced that championship-round grind at 147.
- Already a three-division champ – Haney has already achieved “face of boxing” status once, so he won’t be intimidated by Davis’s ambition.
Haney looked a monster at welterweight in his points win over Brian Norman Jr, he really did.
To knock out Devin Haney all the way up at 147 pounds looks a tough challenge.
If Keyshawn Davis beat Haney it would be a huge win and a significant upset as well.
They should confirm the fight soon or at least try to at any rate as regards details.
