Gervonta Davis called out Mayweather in maybe one of the strangest things seen from Tank Davis in some time.
And that is saying something as well.
Gervonta Tank Davis has gone missing lately in boxing and in life.
He got back on track and is free to box now technically but he is all over the place rencently.
Now he is creating burner social media accounts that are him but he is posting his profile picture as Claressa Shields.
The female boxing champion from Michigan in the US but using the profiles as burner accounts and using strange social media handle names as well on them.
He has said Mayweather does not have many in his corner now but he is ready to suit up.
He mentioned he spoke to someone on the phone but it is not clear if Gervonta Davis is referring to his old manager and advisor Al Haymon.
Who used to manage Mayweather as well.
Haymon has been in big decline in boxing like Mayweather but maybe Davis is still talking him about fights.
This is possible.
As regards a Floyd Mayweather vs Tank Davis fight — it would be huge. Certainly.
Whether a professional boxing match at a catchweight or as an exhibition.
One is formerly the biggest name in American boxing and the other is still in the form of Davis one of the biggest current names in US boxing.
Davis the more big hitter but the smaller of the two in size and Mayweather the more defensive.
Mayweather the more tactician but Davis used to be an accomplished technical knockout artist some years ago as well.
You would have to say Gervonta Davis would have more speed in such a match-up however.
All in all though, both are out of sorts in boxing and in life to be balanced and accurate about it — particularly in recent times.
Floyd Mayweather does not look like he will be boxing anytime soon at the moment.
The Manny Pacquiao rematch had to be cancelled this year.
It is not happening.
Gervonta Davis however could conceivably at least try to have a professional boxing match next up.
He was due to have a big exhibition with Jake Paul last year but due to outside of boxing reasons he had to cancel.
Jake Paul fought and was knocked out by Anthony Joshua instead live on Netflix in a heavyweight bout.
Alas, a Floyd Money Mayweather vs Gervonta Davis match would be off the charts if they could make it.
Who knows what fights either Mayweather or Davis will be in next up.
Gervonta Davis is at his wildest yet that he has been in some time in our view.
