Timothy Bradley is a former welterweight champion of the world and is an alright pundit at times but he might be a bit off here.
Jaron Ennis had a strong win at the weekend just gone against Xander Zayas and stopped him in round 7 in their super welterweight match-up.
Bradley has said though that Ennis would cook Vergil Ortiz, his long time rival, if they fight.
A fight that largely never happened due to in decline Ortiz current promoter Oscar De La Hoya.
We are not so sure Bradley is right.
Vergil Ortiz punches like a mule and Jaron Ennis got badly hurt against a light puncher in the form of Xander Zayas at the weekend.
That is the truth of it.
Vergil Ortiz will not gas out either as a fight goes on which you could say Xander Zayas was doing a little bit last weekend.
This was due to him having to cut over 28 pounds to make weight for last weekend.
Vergil Ortiz would come in prepared and ready to knock out Jaron Ennis in round one.
Jaron Ennis’ defense is wide open at times and Vergil Ortiz if on point will hit him early, frequently — and make him pay much more than Zayas.
Furthermore, the chin of Ennis is suspect and Vergil Ortiz might be in the top five biggest punchers in the sport in all of boxing.
Ortiz is 24-0 with 22 knockouts and has knocked out many danergerous contenders so far.
His resume is a bit better than what Zayas and maybe even Ennis’ is.
We think Ennis might be a slight underdog in the fight due to his punch resistance and defensive vulnerabilities exhibited thus far.
Overall, it is fair to say American former world champion Tim Bradley is over reaching with the above saying Ennis cooks Vergil Ortiz.
He does not.
No way.
Even scrap.
