Usyk eyes wild fights in America

Usyk is currently the recognized lineal heavyweight champion of the world but is yet to confirm his final opponent.

Two names being floated about for him for his final fight are not what you would expect.

One being the former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

The other being former UFC champion Jon Jones.

It is not clear if it would be an MMA or boxing for Jon Jones but it could be in boxing by the sounds of it.

Jon Jones had expressed his interest in fighting in boxing recently.

Usyk struggled with a kickboxing champion in his last boxing match and pulled a late knockout out of the hat to stop Rico.

After nearly suffering the biggest upset of all sports of all time.

Usyk for a while has said he wants to do things in America and certainly Wilder and Jones are names over there.

It looks like Usyk cannot get interested in anything other than a really big event or big fight now for his last fight.

Wilder is well over the hill and shot to bits as his last fight with Derek Chisora showed.

He edged a close points win but the old Deontay Wilder punch power did little to Chisora when it landed.

Jon Jones might be in decline in UFC as well and you would expect Usyk to outbox him easy.

But a possible build-up to both would be highly entertaining.

Given the notoriety and characters in the US of both Wilder and Jon Jones.

Yet another proof of how boxing and MMA are now closer to one another as sports than ever before.
