Xander Zayas has given an edge to Jaron Ennis

On the eve of their fight some things have emerged that gives Jaron Boots Ennis big advantages.

He was expected to win this fight against unbeaten fellow world champion Xander Zayas but maybe more so will be now.

A clash of undefeated fighters and a title fight, it is an outstanding scrap.

However Zayas has revealed he has had to cut over 28 pounds for the bout in the run up to this weekend.

Ahead of their title fight at the Barclays Centre in New York at 154 pounds.

There are some concerns now that he may not make weight but he has assured people that he will and he will win.

His confidence is solid and he has nothing to lose.

The pressure is on Ennis and Ennis knows it.

Many think Ennis is overrated with a padded-record built in his home State.

This is more the type of fight Ennis needs — this is what boxing is all about.

Great fights like this at the weekend.

Ennis is the bigger puncher moving up in weight though.

However it is important to know as well Ennis has had little experience at 154 pounds.

Even though more expierenced a professional, Zayas has more rounds in the bank at super-welterweight.

Ennis has just a round to his name at 154 pounds. Zayas has been there for years.

He is already looking to go to middleweight as well after this fight so this weight cut is a big cocern for him.

The weight cut is a savage one for him and this could hamper him a bit in terms of cardio.

Ennis could be quite powerful and fresh at the weight as well.

Particularly if he carries some of that with him to 154 pounds and Zayas has not done the weight well.

That could tell from around 5 or so onwards.

This has the distance and points written all over it and if the fight does go the duration, Ennis has a cardio edge here possibly.

Who knows how the fight will go.

Boxing ability is what wins fights mostly.

You cannot discount what effect making weight this dramatically could have on Zayas as well though.

Plenty at stake this weekend.

The winner of Xander Zayas vs Jaron Ennis has a possible enterting into the pound for pound rankings at stake.

All to play for.

Jaron Ennis thinks he’s the best boxer in the world, pound for pound.
