Manny Pacquiao On Why He Wants May vs Pac 2 To Still Happen

May vs Pac 2

The Mayweather Pacman 2 rematch is not dead yet. Mayweather has until the end of the day to sort out his issues.

Manny Pacquiao has been doing many interviews in recent hours in the US and he told ESPN he is confident the fight still happens in September as both signed the contract and both took advances on the purses for the bout.

Speaking a short time ago to Fox 11 Los Angeles there was more from the Filipino eight-weight division world champion.

On why he wants the rematch now:

“I think we need this rematch because of the unfinished business from the first fight. There was a lot of doubt — many people believe I was supposed to win that fight. Plus, I was injured during the fight. I hurt my shoulder, my rotator cuff, which is why I had surgery right after. So we need the rematch. The people deserve to see this.”

On Mayweather calling it an exhibition:

Interviewer: “Manny, by chance, did you see what Floyd said? I think he’s saying that he feels it’s an exhibition and not a real fight?”

Pacquiao’s reply: “He signed a real fight. The contract we signed is for a real fight. I want a real fight. He signed what I signed — a real fight. And he already got his advance, so there’s no reason for him to make excuses now.”

There you have it — the bout is of course a proper rematch.

How Mayweather was trying to get it turned into an exhibition is laughable considering Netflix are involved.

And the Sphere in Las Vegas are involved as a venue as well don’t forget.

Mayweather has a deadline to get this thing sorted later on today however.

Pressure is on Mayweather.

Not on boxing or not on Netflix, they can both move on easy without him and he will only screw up his legacy with this if he backs out now.
