Everything has already and is changing and being disrupted in boxing.
It already has been and only more is happening now and in 2026. For the better of the sport.
While the likes of the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF are having huge problems and have become hugely unpopular, clearly, with all boxing fans around the world, due to champions like Usyk getting rid of their belt (WBO recently) and how Shakur Stevenson and Terence Crawford were treated by the WBC recently, the sport, all fans worldwide, move on without the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF if needed.
The sport of boxing has all the power and so do the fans who fund the entire sport. Thus, things are being changed now with an iron fist in boxing, for the people, all boxing fans worldwide and of course the professional boxers who risk their lives daily in training and when they step into that ring.
Let that sink in.
Here’s the new changes and rules happening and being rolled out now in boxing:
Zuffa Boxing has announced the eight weight divisions it will recognize:
- Heavyweight (200lbs+)
- Cruiserweight (200lbs)
- Light-Heavyweight (175lbs)
- Middleweight (160lbs)
- Welterweight (147lbs)
- Lightweight (135lbs)
- Featherweight (126lbs)
- Bantamweight (118lbs)
This means Zuffa will not recognize the following divisions:
- Super-Middleweight (168lbs)
- Super-Welterweight (154lbs)
- Super-Lightweight (140lbs)
- Super-Featherweight (130lbs)
- Super-Bantamweight (122lbs)
- Super-Flyweight (115lbs)
- Flyweight (112lbs)
- Light-Flyweight (108lbs)
- Strawweight (105lbs)
Boom.
The game has been changed.
Just like that.
