Max Kellerman On Differences Between Shakur Stevenson And Devin Haney

Kellerman looks at recent fights from both.

The two are doing well in their boxing careers but maybe Stevenson is the man in form slightly of the two.

He battered Teofimo Lopez recently but Devin Haney had a good win over Brian Norman to become WBO welterweight champion as well.

Speaking on a Ring Magazine discussion panel broadcaster Max Kellerman said of the two:

“Devin Haney boxed beautifully against Norman early and then stopped boxing. He started sitting on a lead, which is running and holding. That’s not boxing. Shakur boxed every second of that fight. I can’t even think of a time where Shakur grabbed Teofimo and held him. Not one time. Boxing is standing and punching range. You do not hold and you are throwing punches. Boxing is hit and don’t get hit. Shakur is the best at that.”

Ultimately the fight is a good fight between the two if it happens.

Shakur Stevenson has said this week he wants to fight Ryan Garcia next up — another big fight for him as well.

Of course there’s the Lamont Roach and Gervonta Davis fights as well.

There are many big fights for Shakur Stevenson. He’s one of the new pound for pound stars in the entire sport now.

After dismantling easily Teofimo Lopez recently.
