Is Errol Spence Relevant Again

Is Errol Spence relevant again in boxing as of 2026? Not really for us. Here is why.

Former world champion Errol Spence has gotten himself into some solid condition and fitness apparently in recent months and is back training in the boxing gym a while now.

But he still has not fought since 2023 since been badly beaten and stopped by the brilliant Terence Crawford.

That is almost three years ago now, that’s a long time in professional boxing and ring rust is real.

Sure, he posts on Instagram and so forth but not that frequently on other platforms and is still a relatively big name in American boxing but new fans don’t really know much about him.

Is Errol Spence relevant again?

Remember, boxing has acquired a lot of new fans and audience since Spence has been away in recent years and a huge amount of new, younger fans now follow boxing only in the last couple of years.

They simply have not seen Spence box as he has not been around in recent years and they need to become familiar with him by seeing him fight in the ring against top tier competition.

Prior to losing to Crawford some years ago as well Spence was in a car crash that totalled his Ferrari and many think he was not the same fighter in the ring after.

That once almost fortress like strength he had was gone and Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford exposed that.

Life went on without Spence and so too did boxing.

It is up to him to get back in the boxing ring soon and show all the new fans new to boxing, and new fans coming to boxing all the time in 2026 in the East and West, that he is still in fact relevant in boxing.
