Carl Froch at the last minute has brought about some big news in terms of a possible late opponent replacement in a major Netflix event.
Gervonta Davis is not out of the November 14th fight against Jake Paul just yet — a catchweight bout that apparently allows for knockouts.
Davis had allegations against him in a civil suit recently that likely will be trashed soon — there is no indication he is out of the bout with Jake Paul yet.
Set to take place on Netflix later this month.
Now, however, former world champion from the UK Carl Froch has said to Jake Paul he can step in for Gervonta Davis if there is problems.
Paul has also apparently offered Ryan Garcia the fight if Davis cannot step in, at the same time.
Surely the Ryan Garcia fight is bigger money and a bigger name in America for Paul though, with respect to Froch.
But the Froch novelty as a former world champion would be a big sell as well and Froch called out Jake Paul on his growing podcast earlier on ‘Froch on Fighting’.
Carl Froch Willing To Step In For Gervonta Davis vs Jake Paul
Speaking on his podcast earlier Froch said:
“One round with me in 10-ounce gloves ends the charade. His entire sideshow collapses. I posted a photo on Instagram yesterday. I’m in great shape. I still hit the bag for 30 minutes, deadlift, squat, do pull-ups, the lot. On 12 days’ notice — it’s a total mismatch. Jake Paul cannot fight.”
Vintage Froch.
Nottingham’s Froch has not changed it a bit.
Nor ever will.
Surely, one way or the other, Froch must fight again against someone.
The Calzaghe fight is huge if someone can put it together.
