Gennady ‘Triple G’ Golovkin ruled the middleweight division with an iron fist for years.
Boxing ability, power punches, and the heart of a lion.
Later in his career maybe he relied on his power a little too much.
Mexican Boxing Legend Fondly Remembers Gennady Golovkin
Multi-weight division world champion and Mexican boxing legend Erik Morales said on Instagram earlier (Spanish to English translation):
“With the great Gennady Golovkin, a fighter who set an era in world boxing. Total respect for a champion who always represented with strength, discipline and an unmistakable style. Two different paths, but the same passion for this sport that gave us everything.”
Two legendary warriors in different divisions, from different places, but with similar mentalities and approaches to boxing.
Gennady Golovkin now chairs World Boxing these days, which will govern amateur boxing in the next Olympics.
