Manny Pacquiao aged 46 is up against it as a big underdog on July 19th for the WBC welterweight title fight with Mario Barrios, without doubt.
He knows that but he doesn’t care for underdog titles or odds or anything as he knows boxing, professional sport and life doesn’t work like that.
He’s upset the applecart enough times over the years to know that.
Speaking to Premier Boxing Champions ‘The Gloves Are Off’ show ahead of the fight Pacquiao said:
“The world is wondering why I’m coming back. Why? My body feels young. I feel young. I mean, like I said, I always bring surprises to the fans. This is a huge fight.”
Pacquiao clearly is a smart man who knows that he still has it physically, otherwise he would not be attempting this.
What’s more he has an outstanding team around him in all aspects who will be advising him on repair after the final phase of grueling training shortly.
Pacquiao is a living Rocky story at the moment, time will tell how the next chapter goes.
Whatever Pacquiao does in boxing or outside of it after that will be successful anyway, he has a good promotions company as well in boxing.
