Ring rust is a real thing for fighters that go out of the gym or don’t stay sharp and near weight in between fights in boxing.
That has been proven again and again in the sport’s history.
Terence Crawford has not been very active lately in recent years ahead of his superfight with Canelo Alvarez on September 13th.
Terence Crawford Trainer Talks Bud Inactivity Going Into Canelo Fight
But his trainer Bomac told Fight Hub this is not to be a concern:
“I think it’s good because it lets his body rest, heal up a little bit. He can go away, have fun with his family, go on vacation, be joyful in this win. Then, when it’s time to go back to work, he’ll get his mindset into that mode. But one thing about Bud—he stays in the gym, stays loose, stays sharp, stays sparring. So it’ll be all right.”
Of course Terence Crawford is always in shape and he is a freak athlete in all sports as well.
Always staying sharp and near his fight weight.
If anything Crawford is in his prime this year and they will look to peak him on the night on September 13th.
