Rolly Romero beat Ryan Garcia in a shock defeat for Garcia last weekend and has now given some thoughts on PEDs and drugs.
Garcia only failed a PED drugs test last year in the Devin Haney fight for trace amounts of a banned substance, something Garcia still strongly denies doing so knowingly.
Speaking to Fight Hype after his epic win, Romero said on if he thought Garcia was on PEDs in their fight last week:
“They can say PEDs don’t give you power. It makes it so you lose weight a little easier and you’re able to train longer, but it’s not going to make you punch harder—that’s a lie. If that were the case, a lot of fighters would be knocking people out cold, and they’re not. What happened with Devin is he got hit. Ryan couldn’t even hit me.”
Kind of on the fence there but he didn’t say he did think he was on drugs either.
Look, Garcia was not on PEDs and was coming off a big layoff and a family member battling cancer going into the fight.
Garcia will be back but well done to Rolly Romero on a famous victory for him.
