The former super-middleweight champion of the world Carl Froch is as cut throat as they come in boxing and gave his views on Oleksandr Usyk.
Undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Usyk returns on July 19th in a mega fight worldwide for boxing in a unification bout against IBF champion Daniel Dubois of the UK.
Speaking on his podcast, Froch on Fighting, Carl Froch said after speaking with Usyk this week:
“I just had a quick chat with Usyk, and he told me he wants to keep fighting even after this bout. For me, and for many fighters, we look at him and think—undisputed cruiserweight, undisputed heavyweight, he’s completed the game. He’s done everything.”
Well said.
Candid and straight to the point as always by Froch but he’s right as well though.
Usyk like all great professional fighters, and athletes, is driven by goals and not dreams.
He will be driven to keep improving and getting stronger, and keep battering people in boxing.
After that, whatever he does, he’ll have the same mentality and keep looking to win everyday right up until his final day on this Earth.
That’s who Usyk is, one of the greats of all time.
They never switch off in life.
