Morrell lost on points to David Benavidez and here he and his well respected trainer Ronnie Shields react to the loss below.
Speaking after the fight asked on if pro boxing experience was a factor tonight Morrell speaking through a translator said:
“It (experience) was definitely one of the main factors. It didn’t tilt balance 100 per cent but it was a favor.”
His US trainer and well respected coach Ronnie Shields said
“I would say so (that Benavidez’ experience was a factor). That did play a big part in the fight. I’m so proud of my guy. Although that was his 12th fight, in boxing you learn from fights. This is something we take away from and you know next time, we keep moving on.”
