Tyson Reveals Why He Stipulated 2 Minute Rounds For Paul Fight

Mike Tyson takes on Jake Paul in one of the most hyped fights of all time that incredibly will take place under professional boxing rules.

Well, the rules will be hybrid in some aspects but nonetheless, the fight will go on both men’s professional boxing records.

When the fight happens on July 20th in Texas Tyson said at the pre fight press conference he wanted two minute rounds due to:

“I wanted to cut the rounds because I wanted more action. If we only have 2 minutes we will fight more. That means there is going to be more action. I’ve been doing a lot of sprints because that’s why I’m doing the running. I’ve been doing a lot of sprints.”

In theory, he’s completely right.

At the time of fight he’ll be 58 and his gas tank of eight two-minute-rounds will be put to the test.

Tyson will be coming into this trying to take Paul out as soon as possible.

The concern for Tyson, and potentially a strategy of Paul, will be to take the older legs of Tyson into the later rounds.

To tire him out and maybe try to counter punch him.
