Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and MMA star turned one time pro boxer Conor McGregor have continuously being linked this year.

It is understood that McGregor will likely have a fight in the UFC first.

Before, at some point in 2021, stepping into the boxing ring with Pacquiao.

Obviously all things have been put back due to the current world situation.

That said, it doesn’t take a genius to know that things are happening still.

Behind the scenes that is in the boxing business.

Notice Conor McGregor’s whiskey ‘Proper 12’ is sponsoring the upcoming Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz fight.

There is no doubt that some things will happen in the new year.

A Pacquiao vs McGregor boxing match is realistic.

Speaking in reaction to former UFC conqueror of McGregor in the past Pacquiao said:

Isn’t it interesting that Pacquiao has taken such an interest in MMA.

And past opponent’s of McGregor all of a sudden.

A boxing match between Pacquiao and McGregor in 2021 looks nailed on in my humble opinion.

The talks of Floyd Mayweather making a return for a McGregor rematch are likely rubbish.

Pacquiao however much more realistic.

Things would have happened with McGregor and the boxing world again this year if not for the circumstances for sports.

Who wins in a boxing match between the two?

Well, logic says Pacquiao.

Easily.

Even at his age.

That said, he isn’t getting any younger.

By the time they eventually do step into a boxing ring Pacquiao will have had more miles on the clock.

This will likely be used as a way to sell said bout.

Interesting times once again in terms of McGregor and the boxing world.

I’m not a big supporter of all the YouTube boxing star garbage but when McGregor boxed Mayweather that was different.

It benefited both the sport of boxing and mixed martial arts in my view.

In terms of bringing new fans to boxing.

Likely visa versa too.

You’d have to think the MMA promoters saw how successful a big boxing event can be on pay per view and want some of the action again.

Time will tell.
