Standout boxing prospect and young contender Ryan Garcia has been ticking over like all fighters during the current world situation.

Now he has been given a definitive date for his next fight.

A concrete bit of hope for him and indeed American boxing fans.

It looks like his promoter Golden Boy Promotions have secured a behind closed doors fight card in America on the 4th of July.

Garcia confirmed the date himself a short time ago:

This is really excellent stuff and is going to put a lot of energy back into boxing.

The first bit of news in a while to look forward to. Brilliant.

Prior to the lockdown Gacia was heavily linked with Jorge Linares as his next fight opponent.

His opponent on July 4th is expected to be confirmed soon.

As a quick aside, Garcia’s promoter De La Hoya also clarified some reports about him and one Conor McGregor purporting to a potential boxing link:

All in all, it now looks like boxing in America is back on the 4th of July in a behind closed doors situation.

Fair play to all involved.

Roll on.
