Danny Garcia returns to work this weekend against Ivan Redkach at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Provided he wins, he’s back in the mix for some interesting fights at welterweight.
No doubt about it.
One of those could be against fellow PBC stablemate Manny Pacquiao.
Or even a showdown with Top Rank’s welterweight king Terence Crawford.
Or plenty of other fellow stablemates at PBC later in the year.
Pacquiao for his pasrt has recently been linked with a boxing match against UFC star Conor McGregor.
A fighter who recently returned to winning ways in the sport of mixed martial arts.
Speaking in a media scrum to reporters ahead of his fight this weekend Danny Garcia said of the whole story:
“I can see it coming through because Manny Pacquao is a global icon and Conor McCregor is a big superstar and it will generate a lot of money. For that reason I think it will happen.”
On McGregor’s chances in a ‘PacMan’ fight he added:
“He didn’t look that bad for his first fight with Mayweather, his first pro fight allegedly. He went 9 rounds with him. That’s pretty good.”
McGregor is currently 0-1 as a professional boxer having suffered a stoppage loss at the hands of Floyd Mayweather (50-0) a couple of years back.
