Danny Garcia Has Three Opponents In Mind For His Second Fight Of 2019

Danny Garcia returned to form last weekend with an impressive stoppage win over Adrian Granados.

It wasn’t long ago that Garcia was bouncing back from a loss to Keith Thurman but this past weekend he really showed that he still has plenty left.

In stark contrast to Thurman — who last time out looked very sluggish in his first outing of 2019.

If a rematch were to happen next up between the two perhaps on form — you’d now have to make Garcia the slight favorite.

But options are a plenty for ‘Swift’ at the moment as he has the pick of pretty much all the top welterweights.

Outside of Terence Crawford that is.

A boxer who has become somewhat isolated at 147lbs as he is not boxing under the same banner as most of the other top welterweights at this time.

Speaking on PBC Fox Garcia said he’s looking at three names next up:

“You know, I want the rematch with Shawn (Porter). I really want the rematch with (Keith) Thurman. (Manny) Pacquiao said he wants to fight me. So lets see how that goes.”

If one was a betting man however you’d have to think that it will be Garcia vs Porter next and Pacquiao vs Thurman next up.

The winner of each fight could then conceivably box one another by the end of the year or possibly even challenge IBF champion Errol Spence.

Don’t expect WBO champion Terence Crawford to feature in fights against any of the above this year however.

Next year at the earliest, unfortunately.
