WBO Update Middleweight, Super-Middleweight and Light-Heavyweight Rankings

The new WBO rankings are out and there sure as heck make for interesting reading.

While boxing titles are not as important to fans as they used to be, they still hold some use for making big fights and influencing how fights get made for the time being.

Writer Michael Benson has reported the following changes to the WBO’s latest rankings:

Interesting that Saunders has moved up and decided not to pursue Andrade for a fight again for his old WBO title.

That said, perhaps it could just be a temporary move by Saunders who may find himself back at middleweight again after his next fight.

Golovkin takes on Danny Jacobs next up on Cinco De Mayo in Vegas but the winner looks now set for a unification with Andrade by the end of the year if reading between the lines from the above.

As for 175lbs, the UK’s Anthony Yarde might feel a little hard done by the above but his chance will come in time if he keeps churning in the wins like he has been doing.

Kovalev for his part impressed last time out and looks set to be a force at light-heavyweight once again.

For the immediate future at least.
