Retired world champion Marcos Maidana posted a rather bizarre video recently on social media of him appearing to be quite a bit over his old fight week but still calling out big names in the sport of boxing including Mayweather, Canelo Alvarez and Manny Pacquiao.

Not a lot of seriousness was given to it at the time and most likely, on the balance of probabilities — we won’t be seeing the much loved and respected ‘Chino’ back to the ring anytime soon.

However, upon hearing about the call out for the first time at this week’s Grand Arrivals for his fight in Vegas with Adrien Broner — Pacquiao said he’s game if Maidana can still make weight.

Speaking at an open media scrum Pacquiao said:

“You think so? (laughs) He is heavy already. Can he still make 147lbs? You know I have no problem. I can fight at anybody at 147lbs.”

Pacquiao takes on Adrien Broner first up however this Saturday.

Provided he gets past that it is thought that a Floyd Mayweather rematch is being targeted in the summer back in Las Vegas.
