Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing literally a couple of months back was very publicly pursuing the signings of both Adrien Broner and Manny Pacquiao to his new promotion in the US.

Neither boxer signed with him in the end and Broner even went as far as to post his offer received from Hearn on Instagram in terms of the money that was being offered at the time.

Pacquiao subsequently signed with Al Haymon and the Premier Boxing Champions series not long afterwards.

In an interview on Fight Hype earlier today where Hearn labelled Pacquiao ‘faded’ and Broner as having ‘poor discipline’ in a fight between this two this weekend in Vegas that Hearn said did ‘nothing’ for him.

The comments have gone down like a sack of spuds in the media and among fans so far, given the fact that only a couple of months ago Eddie was literally trying to sign both guys.

Showtime boss Stephen Espinoza was quick to point this out:

All is fair in love and war as they say.

As far as the boxing business goes, the war among promoters, TV networks and platforms is only just heating up in 2019 which should hopefully result in more big fights getting made between the best fighters in the world when fans want to see them fight.

Not two or three years after.
