What Canelo Said Straight After Beating Golovkin

Canelo's 10 World Titles Resume At Age 29 Makes For Impressive Reading

Canelo Alvarez is a man on a high at the moment after arguably the biggest win of his career after the amount of adversity and bad press he’s gone through over the past year.

Going into the fight some fans suggested that he didn’t fight like a Mexican against Golovkin in their first fight a year ago.

He certainly did last night, that’s for sure.

Even Golovkin himself admitted he fought like a Mexican after the fight back stage.

Speaking straight after the win last night, here are the first words that came out of Canelo’s mouth to HBO’s Max Kellerman:

Since his defeat to Floyd Mayweather a few years ago he has come back well overall in terms of his development.

It’s hard to believe he is still just 28 years of age when you consider he’s pretty much a veteran in boxing having turned pro at only 16 years of age in Mexico.

A man born and bred to fight, no doubt about it.

It would be nice to see a Golovkin rematch next year for the part three.

One wonders if ‘GGG’ would take the fight again if it was in Las Vegas however with two decisions now going against him there.
