Canelo Admits Being Bothered By Comments From Team Golovkin

Saturday night sees a coming together of the two best middleweight fighters on Earth.

Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez made their grand arrivals in Las Vegas yesterday and are now settling into their fight week preparations ahead of what is a genuine grudge match.

Both guys have had sent plenty of things about one another in the build-up to this weekend’s fight and when that first bell goes on Saturday night, fists are going to fly with even more intensity than the first fight last year.

The first fight was a cracker, as well.

It’s just one of the judges caused a lot of controversy, but on the whole, it was probably one of the best middleweight title fights in modern boxing.

I’m expecting something even better come Saturday because of the added needle involved this time around.

Canelo speaking on his grand arrival admitted comments from Golovkin and his team have angered him:

“I’m bothered by all the stupid things they’ve been saying. I don’t know which one to laugh about or get angry about at this point. But their statements are all excuses for the loss they will take this Saturday. I have been using all of these statements as motivation for my fight on Saturday. I know that it can be dangerous to go in the ring with a hot head, but I have experience. I know how to use this anger in the ring intelligently. I’m happy for all the support the fans give me, and I will give them a great fight this Saturday.”

He will need to be cognizant that he doesn’t lose his cool as if he does, he could be drawn into the type of dog fight that Golovkin is hoping on.
